Yerba Buena, Two Sisters

Two Sisters is located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. As frequent readers of the site may know, I am definitely not a beer drinker. However, I do enjoy a beer cocktail. Yerba Buena translates from Spanish to English as good herb. I love the refreshing pop of spice from the ginger and gin and the fizz from the beer.

The Drink - Yerba Buena, $10Ginger infused gin, lime, beer

Chamomile Old Fashioned, Two Sisters

Two Sisters is located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. If this is not the first time you are reading about this place on our site, then you know this is one of my favorite places in Hayes Valley. I enjoy a cup of Chamomile tea with honey for it's soothing effects. With the addition of bourbon, its even more comforting. Nothing skips a beat at Two Sisters. I love how the lemon garnish, makes the drink even more inviting.

Two Sisters, Two Sisters

Two Sisters has quickly become one of my favorite places to hang for an afternoon in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. I can't believe it took me so long to give their signature drink a try. Sit back, relax, read a book or chat with friends and sip the night away.

The Dark Knight, Two Sisters

Two Sisters Bar and Books has quickly become my favorite spot for an afternoon cocktail in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. The quality of the food, drinks and service is top-notch. The Dark Knight intrigued me with the cherry/balsamic vermouth ingredient. I love the combination of flavors. The balsamic not only adds the deep color to this mysterious character of the night, but really adds depth in flavor. I've never tasted this style of cocktail before. I welcome this wicked savory cocktail, the Dark Knight, anytime!

Iggy Pop, Two Sisters

Two Sisters Bar and Books is located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. I just love this warm and cozy bar. When I saw the Iggy Pop cocktail "pop" up my Facebook newsfeed in the beginning of September, I knew that I had to try this new signature cocktail on their menu. As my research companion said, "Wow, this is REALLY good." The Italian vermouth Punt e Mes may mean point and a half in Piedmontese, but this cocktail scores a 10+.

The Drink - Iggy Pop, $10
Tequila, Punt E Mes, and grapefruit

Spring's Arrow, Two Sisters

Two Sisters Bar and Books is located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. I love how they have transformed this space, which formerly housed Frjtz into a welcoming den of cocktails, small dishes and books. Although they don't have an extensive cocktail menu, each cocktail that I've had there is exquisitely prepared. On this visit, I ordered Spring's Arrow. I absolutely loved the watermelon jolly rancher color of this drink. But don't be deceived into thinking that because of the color, this is a sweet drink. This cocktail is peppery, delicately sweet, sour and pretty all at once. It's lip smacking good!

What's a strawberry shrub? No, it's not a strawberry bush. It's a vinegar based syrup that is reduced with water, sugar and a fruit. Back in the day (Colonial times), shrubs were used to preserve fruit so they could be used for drinks in the summertime. I'm glad to see shrubs on more cocktail menus.

On all my visits, Two Sisters far exceeded their mission, which per their website "is to create a space that nourishes and feeds our community and ourselves – a space where neighbors and strangers alike feel like family."

The Drink - Spring's Arrow $10
Tequila, strawberry shrub, lime, black pepper
