Empress Elizabeth, Skool

Skool is located in the Design District of San Francisco. They recently updated their menus with the change of the seasons. The Empress Elizabeth is a unique delicious libation with Svedka Vodka, Veev, Crème De Violette, Grand Marnier, Lemon, and Cava. The cocktail arrives and immediately grabs your attention with the intriguing shade of purple. It's a complex cocktail where with each sip you uncover a new distinctive flavor. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the beautiful hue of purple in the picture. Luckily, I will be returning soon to give it another try.

I asked Skool about the inspiration for this cocktail. Here's their response, "Empress Elizabeth of Austria was a feminine queen, as is Creme De Violette, but she was a non conformist who's life ended tragically.  This cocktail is a blend of femininity and ingredients that one may not at face value thinks would blend well together, but do."  Is it fitting for a queen or any royalty? Absolutely!

It's not only Brit Week 2012 but also the Diamond Jubilee(60th year of reign) for Queen Elizabeth II of England.

  1. Ok, this drink is decadent and fit for a Queen or Empress or whatever! The violet liquor makes it so interesting...floral, but not too sweet. Had to order 2. :-)

  2. @Jane, the color is divine. Hard to believe that it tastes just as good or even better than it looks! Did you eat the edible flowers?
