State Street Cocktail at South in San Francisco

I'm so jazzed up to see another place in Hayes Valley with delicious cocktails. South at SFJazz also adds cuisine from the Old South and topnotch jazz performances. When I saw the State Street Cocktail with the fresh pressed pineapple, I knew that's what I needed to start the evening right. It did not disappoint. My research partner that night is not a gin fan. But after having a taste of this perfectly balanced cocktail, they ended up having two of these, just like me.

If you are headed there for a performance, make sure you make a reservation to avoid disappointment in not getting a table. If you just want to experience the food and cocktails, I think it's best to head on a non-performance day or make a reservation after the show starts. With the latter, you are able to enjoy the music too. For those Charles Phan fans of Hardwater on the Embarcadero, you can also enjoy some of the Hardwater dishes at South too.
